As a trumpet performer, composer, arranger, and educator, Mark Morgan is continually gaining recognition as a talented and versatile artist. Always looking to expand his musical repertoire, Mark is fluent in a variety of musical styles, ranging from musical theater to authentic New York salsa. While he is best known for his soulful live performances, his creative talents extend further. Various collegiate ensembles, as well as numerous New York-based performing groups, have performed his compositions and arrangements.

Mark began his formal music training in his school band program in Tennessee. After graduating from Giles County High School, he studied at Tennessee Technological University with trumpet instructor Charles Decker and jazz studies director Chris McCormick, earning a bachelor's degree in Music Education. Throughout his undergraduate career, he continued to develop as a performer through local big bands and university ensembles. He also began exploring composition and arranging and eventually formed his own jazz ensemble. While studying in Tennessee, Mark received a Blue Note scholarship to the Skidmore Jazz Institute.

Following graduation, Mark began performing internationally with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises. During his time at sea, he had the opportunity to perform alongside such notable artists as The Drifters, Lenny Welch, Los Angeles-based violinist and recording artist Doug Cameron, and motion picture recording pianist Pearl Kaufman. He also continued his private trumpet studies with Nashville-based trumpet player and studio artist Steve Patrick.

After completing his cruise contracts, Mark moved to New York City to pursue a Master of Music in Jazz Performance at SUNY Purchase, graduating in 2007. There, he studied with New York-based recording artists Ray Vega and Scott Wendholt, as well as jazz trumpet legend Jon Faddis. During his years in New York, Mark established himself as an active freelance musician, performing at numerous special events and functions for celebrities, public figures, and prominent organizations. He also appeared in a music video with Latin pop star Luis Miguel. His performance credits include some of the country's most prestigious venues, including the Kennedy Center, Madison Square Garden, the Chicago Theatre, and the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City. In addition to his extensive local performance schedule, Mark toured nationally with the musical theater productions of Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz.

In 2014, Mark earned a position with the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band. His duties included performing as a featured soloist with the Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble, as well as performing with the Heritage of America Concert Band and Ceremonial Brass Quintet.

After completing his military service, Mark returned to Tennessee, where he continued his career as a freelance trumpet performer and educator. He previously served as a Brass Methods instructor at Middle Tennessee State University, where he also co-led the university's salsa band alongside Lalo Davila. Mark currently serves as the Commercial Trumpet Instructor at Belmont University, where he works with students in jazz improvisation, commercial music styles, lead trumpet playing, and trumpet fundamentals. He remains active as a freelance musician, drawing on nearly 25 years of professional experience across jazz, commercial music, Latin music, musical theater, and other musical genres.
